WHERE DO WE GO FROM HERE?

"Where do we go from here?"
4 hour interactive experience within an enhanced multisensory environment
consisting of:
sculpture (both dead and alive),
paper / collage,
sound
& performance.



The audience is guided through the 4,000 sq ft environment by a sketched blueprint and an interactive price sheet. The price sheet instructs visitors to make all inquiries and purchases by texting the “Seller” (the artist). Prices range from fixed, to “name your own,” to suggested donation.

“Artworks” include sewn paper collages; live, immediate performances by the “Seller”; and private performances in the buyer’s home at a later, pre-arranged time. Additional works include the adoption of live goldfish, accompanied by texted instructions guiding the buyer through a warehouse maze to retrieve the tools required for extraction.

The audience is not permitted direct communication with the “Seller.” All communication and negotiation takes place exclusively via text message. Once a price is agreed upon, payment must be made immediately in cash or via cash-transfer apps such as Venmo.

The “Seller” (artist) is physically present yet remains disconnected from the audience, sectioned off in a corner by caution tape. Although she is—quite literally—on display, she experiences shifting periods of visibility and invisibility.

As visitors come to understand that face-to-face interaction is unavailable, their attention turns back toward the work, the environment, and one another.

The artist becomes a fly on the wall of her own creation.
